Summer Fun :)
In all the beach trip did you forget to hydrate yourself? It is know during all the warm weather we forget the smallest thing... Hydration! Al-tho we are busy it is easy to keep hydrated. Simple rules to follow:

~Keep water with you

~Never leave plastic containers of water or juice in a hot car. It releases chemicals and make the liquid inside contaminated.

~Have "cooling foods" such as watermelon, apples, cucumbers and grapes with you at the beach for a snack.

Always remember just because you do not feel hot. Does not mean you are not dehydrating. Having water, good sugars, potassium packed foods help keep from low blood sugar and keep your body hydrated.

Winter is here!!
Most people come down with a cold – two or three of them per season. To ward off these common winter illnesses, boost your immune system with natural food sources of vitamin C. Studies have shown that vitamin pills aren't as effective at warding off many diseases. Other potential natural cold-preventatives include the herb andrographis, zinc and elderberry extract, but vitamin C has the best track record.

Thyme or Rosemary for a Cough
If the worrying news about over-the-counter cough syrup has you down, try this natural alternative from Quick & Simple.
Add three tablespoons of dried thyme to one pint of boiling water. Let cool, then add one cup of honey. Take one teaspoon every hour as needed. You can store the mix in the fridge for up to three months.

Echinacea

A go-to herb for colds, this plant (Echinacea purpurea and E. angustifolia) may help support your immune system to fight viruses. The root, leaves, and flowers are all medicinal.

How to use: Take 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of tincture (herbal extract) every two hours until symptoms are gone. Echinacea also comes in tea blends.

Energy!
What happens to a person who has a job that requires a higher amount of energy?

The world is full of people who seem to go from one day to the next perpetually exhausted and without energy. Most of the time we hear about people who just don’t get enough sleep. Sleep deprivation is a common cause for fatigue and a constant nervous disposition.

Can lack of sleep, alone, be responsible for the increased number of tired people that we see around us each day? Usually under a huge amount of stress, people tend to gain weight. The cause for this is not just an unhealthy diet.

When the work piles up, and a 24-hour day seems to be insufficient, we tend to consume a lot of junk food and energy drinks, in order to complete our daily tasks.

Although these products do provide minor blasts of energy, the results are short-term. You also run the risk of addiction, along with weight gain -- and possibly other, more serious, conditions.

So…since we all need to get the energy, but also need to keep our body “machine” functioning properly, let’s grab some of the most helpful and energizing foods and drinks, that can help us live a more healthy and productive life.

1. Green vegetables

2. Whole Grains

3. Green parsley

4. Fruits

5. Seeds

6. Nuts

7. Fruit smoothies and shakes

8. Green tea, Black tea, white tea

9. Honey

10. Coffee
